Green earth stretches under the eye
a great expanse reaching
to the gray waters of a distant
horizon where the sun explodes
down beyond the water,
streaking the sky with lines of fire.
Our reward for having climbed.
And though the moment is gone in an instant
the memory of the climb will live on.
