when we look up, finally having torn ourselves away from the screen, which has distracted us from the carnage of our existence, will we recognize the hand we played in the world's destruction: in our longing for belonging, in our striving to meet the expectations seen on screen - by having and consuming - we have devoured the world and our selves with it - or will we see nothing; the transgressions of today forgotten in the immediacy tomorrow, so we may rest with the false innocence of ignorance
